December was Crazy Busy

December has been an insane month. Full of excitement, adventure, sickness and joy. So first of all health has been an issue for all of us here in the Witt household this month. We all had malaria at least once and Jason 3 times. (Except Nevaeh she is the healthiest one in the whole family). We also all had a fight with worms and amoebas which are also not fun to deal with but finally we are all well again and running at 100%. We have had so much going on in the midst of all of that and God has been so faithful to us through this time.
We are currently constructing a house for a Somali man we befriended in our town. A fairly simple house mud walls and corrugated steel roof with a wooden frame. One of the days we were at the hardware store getting supplies a man was working on a building next to us and somehow got a metal pole in contact with an open electrical wire so needless to say he was electrocuted very bad. So we ran to him cleared the pole off and carried him down the stairs and into my car to rush him to the hospital. In the midst of everyone’s panic someone else was trying to get their car in position to also pick the man and when I was pulling out to go to the hospital he hit me with his car. We were so blessed to have been able to stay on the road and continue on our way to the hospital. The man lived and was discharged that day and the man who hit me has agreed to pay for the damages. God is so good to us when we obey Him!!! We also hosted our first Bethany Christmas here in G-town it was great we had chicken, duck, turkey and all the fixings it was amazing. We also had about 20 friends and family here to join us.
On Christmas day however we spent it differently than I ever have before. We decided to make a nice meal for the local orphanage and just make it a special day for them with presents and such!! We had fries and roasted meat, which is a treat to me, and the kids loved it! Then we had gifts for each one of them specifically!! I t was so awesome just to sit back and see the elation on each ones face was worth all the hard work! And we got to share the story with them through a drama the interns did. So December had been jam-packed with many things especially blessing from a loving God!!!!!
