From Kenya to America

In the children's lounge in the Nairobi airport.

 Arriving in New York:

1) Soooooooooooooo cold!
2) Our first meal was a cheeseburger.
3) My mom taught the girls to play "Mary had a Little Lamb" on the piano.
4) My Uncle Vinnie and Aunt Diane hosted a party at their house so I could see all my relatives on my mom's side.
5) My Brother Tim brought us a Pizza Pie.
6) I got to meet my brother Joe's daughter for the first time.
7) Jason and I went to cheer on the Brooklyn Nets- my first basketball game!!
8) We took the Subway into Chinatown New York late at night- then to Penn Station arriving home at 2am.

Now in Boston Massachusettes:

1) Me and my sister have gone shopping!!!!
2) Got to hang out with my cousin and her kids and learned her kids are my first cousins once removed.
3) Went on a duck boat tour of Boston-our vehicle went from driving around on land then into the water- all the kids got to drive it as a boat.
4) We cheered on the Kenyan runners at the Boston Marathon yesterday!! The Ethiopians won.
5) Looking forward to see my grandparents, on my Dad's side, tomorrow.

Our Culture shock/Observations

1) Water fountains in the London airport!
2) Warm water to wash our hands.
3) Having to stop at red lights.
4) There are free range chicken cages everywhere-even next to the main road.
5) Everyone has solar power on their roofs.
6) Playgrounds are around every corner.
7) Windows do not have bars on them.
8) Houses do not have high walls- we can watch the mailman come as well as the garbage man.
