Representing and sharing about Christ on Christmas Day.

Thank you for your prayers for the Christmas outreach at the farm. Our family not only had the joy serving alongside Amos and Grace's family,  the Bethany team (including interns) but other members of the body of Christ including Teddy (our friend and faithful mechanic), Alex (Amos'brother) and the Mbau family.

For this first group of pictures I want to show what goes into feeding a meal to a village  (literally).
Here is the "Before" pic. The Christmas cow not knowing this is the last few minutes of her life. She was a decent size and supposedly unable to give birth due to the way she urinated.

The "After" pic. This young man was in the farm scholarship program, and just completed his final year of high-school. His Mom works on the farm and his sister is enrolled in the scholarship program.

The men chopping up the meat in to bite sized pieces.

Jason's adding all the spices. Some of the secret ingredients= several liters of coke and several bottles of soy sauce. Many people like to drink this "soup" filling up cups. It's too salty for me to drink but I like to add it to my cooked rice.

Meanwhile there are lots of vegetables to chop up. On Christmas day 130 pounds of tomatoes, 66 pounds onions, 30 pounds of potatoes, 4-5 pounds of garlic and 30 bunches of cilantro were chopped up.

50 pounds of flour was made into chapati. This really is such a huge task to make sure the right ratio of salt, oil, and flour is added. Mrs. Mbau showed how you can taste the raw dough to check and spit it out. Then the dough is rolled out into thin strips to roll into a ball. This makes it flaky.

The dough is rolled out into a circle and cooked w a little oil.

We had a system to dish out the food onto plates and then it was carried out like this to pass out to people. Each plate had pilau, meat, kachumbari, a lime slice and a chapati.

An estimate of 250 were fed on Christmas Day.

For these next grouping of pictures I want to show what everyone else was doing while the food was getting cooked and prepared. Photo credit: Josh and Jaynisi.

Our team told and acted out 5 Old Testament stories. This one shown is Samson killing a lion with his bare hands.

Jason and the Witt girls sang Altogether Good. Josh played the guitar and others sang other songs in Swahili in between each Old Testament story.

We did crafts on the mat with whoever wanted to. We also brought henna and henna stickers.

Righteous beautiful smile comes out while hanging out with kids.

Samara sharing a cup of soup with these little ones.

Jason and Amos got to explain why Christians believe it is so special that Jesus was born. He had to be born so that He could die as our substitute for our sin and then rose again 3 days later. He is now preparing a place for us in heaven for all who believe in Him as the Savior. He gives us a new life, heals us from hurts and shame, gives us hope for the future and life is worth living because of His great sacrifice for us.

The playground was a highlight for the children on Christmas Day. We praise God that the roof was able to be put up just a few days before we gathered to celebrate. It provided excellent shade and prevented the kids getting burned when going down the slides.

How many kids can you spot in this photo? There are many others that you can't see on other parts of this playground. It made all the children so happy.

5 months ago I had the opportunity to drive a woman in labor to the hospital. She delivered a healthy baby girl minutes after arriving- showing me it was that close to having a baby born in my vehicle. I'm holding this baby girl whom I told was named after me. I thank God for her life and pray she will grow up to know who Jesus is and what He did for her. Can you be praying for everyone who heard the gospel message at the farm-that the seeds that were planted would take root? That people will start asking questions and search for truth? That they would have an encounter with Jesus that they would not be able to deny that He is more than a prophet.
