Christmas Eve and Christmas morning

Now the dogs are up to killing five animals so far- 3 civets, 1 cat, and the latest this mongoose that is pretty big. Before anyone freaks out about them killing a cat I have to explain the cats here are nothing like the ones in the US. They have fleas and are super skinny because of worms, and are basically wild. Jas has taught Righteous to throw rocks at them so even if we are inside at a meeting and she sees a cat outside she will bring him a rock. We will do are best to retrain her before going on furlough so that she doesn't hurt anyone's pet.

On Christmas Eve we had all the interns over for breakfast and then to open stockings. Thanks to Benny and Windy for the amazing foods- everybody drank the mountain dew that very day. Thanks Jessica's parents for the special treats from America we were all trying to trade our favorites like the dinner mints and hot chocolates yummy! Then the work began we had to sort out 100kgs of Unga (kinda like cornmeal the staple food for most meals here) 50 kgs of sugar (for the everyday chai) and 50kgs of bean. We wanted to give it as a gift to each of the 85 families we fed on Christmas. I will write a separate post on how the day went with pics real soon- God is good and accomplishes beyond what we even realize. This took around 2 hours. We took a break and then chopped and minced garlic and onions. The big bucket on my kitchen counter is the picture of all the chopped onions. My fingers still are having the smells of those two. Everyone admitted this was a Christmas Eve like no other and I agree but it makes me grateful to be able to show people God's love through this gift. I also enjoyed working together with all the interns. Some are feeling homesick because it is the first time they are away from their families this holiday season and we all unified together to get the focus onto giving to the needy. Esther mom is here during this time and it is very special to have her. Well let me post this and get pics to download about the meal. Merry Christmas Everyone and thank you for making it possible for us to serve these people whom Jesus has died for and desires that none of them perish.
