We celebrated our five year anniversary yesterday and at the end of day we had 20plus South Africans over for a goat roast (they are here for there annually missions trip). Jason and I agree together that these five years have gone by so fast and still we have lived many different places, met lot of people, our family has grown, and God has changed us and conitnues to pour out His love on us. I thank God for being apart of our marriage and planning for us to be together even though we have different strengths and weaknesses. Just this past month we were able to help out a local school and it is such a blessing to be able to work together with Jason here although we have different jobs we enjoy doing. In this above picture is when we find out what the need is of the school. The first request was to build a new building because at the end of this year all schools that are not owning their own property will be closed down. They are renting this property and it doesn't fufill the required amount of space to hold students that the law says. We definetly do not have that kind of money and even if we did Jason feels it would not be right for us to simply build a new school. Instead he would want the cimmunity to step up and be apart of this project even if it just giving a small amount of money or supplies. It is important that the community owns their building that is used to educate their children or it just contributes for them to be a "hand out" society. There are lots of people here in Kenya that expect food, clothing, and other things to be handed to them just because they live here. This does not teach them how to take care of themselves or to work hard to provide for themselves and their families. Sadly many of the NGO's (Non-Goverment Organizations) have a good desire to bring aid to those in need but they are just temporarily solving a problem. They need to teach
the people to start agricultural farming projects or micro-business, or some kind of trade so that they can be independent and instead of dependant on all the hand outs.
Here at the school I was able to fulfill my passion- teaching children biblical principles through art. I am grateful for Tucker Swamp Baptist Church and other supporters who have given me a great supply of art supplies to carry this out. The students faces always brighten up being able to use stickers- although I almost always have to explain how to use them because they have never seen a sticker before. Righteous will often help them remove the sticker from the adhesive and the first time this is done an aw of amazement is declared. (I can only imagine if they ever saw a firework display for the fourth of July)
On the opposite side of the school compound Jason is busy at work with his many tools. Along with a 20 year reunion missions team- they were able to build several tables and book shelves, as well as maintenance of the "squatty- potties" and desks. Jason wanted to build things that the school could easily take down and move to their new location at the end of the year. We truly love being here and being apart what God is doing. I look forward to many more years serving the Lord with Jason right by my side.

Congratulations on five years. You guys have been on my families heart since our Living Hope Church team was there. We pray and will continue to pray for your family as well as the school project. Thank you for what you do and your love for God that is so evident in your actions. It has effect 8, 000 miles away, thank you, thank you.
