From snow to Africa

It is such a joy to receive other believers, even those we have never met before, that have the same desire we do. We want to show our love for Jesus by giving love to others. We had a team come from Northern Minnesota, where they understand the true meaning of a freezing cold winter and the blanket of snow. They ended up coming during Kenya's summer time (the complete opposite) and had to not only adjust to the harsh climate, but be out serving, working, and walking all over throughout our town and the surrounding villages. There were three areas they were able to focus on during there 10 days here. Funding as well as putting up a roof for a medical clinic, helping out to conduct a 2 day medical clinic as well as a little dental, and organize a soccer tournament in which the champion team would play against the men from Minnesota teamed up with our interns and Jason.
We had the privilege to have our intern Nate's grandma come who is 79. She always was smiling and even had a village propose to build her a hut so that she could live their with them. She knew when she needed to sit down and rest or even take an afternoon nap. In the above picture the children are fascinated with her white hair.
The team from Minnesota brought soccer shirts for leagues here. These pictures are of two of the 6 teams that received shirts.

So awesome! Was it a stem team? How amazing that someone's GRANDMA would visit them in AFRICA! That lady gets some serious brownie points in my book :) Sounds like it was a blessing to have the team come.

Haha. I love that they offered to build her a hut. I can just imagine how excited the kids would have been to have their own mzungu grandma in the village. :)
