Bathtub baby turns 5!

The day before the birthday we have the tradition of getting henna done on the hands, arms, feet, and legs. When Laura Kopylov was here she was able to pour many seeds of love into this family that does the henna. They ask about her each time we see them. It reminds me that as people come and go they have the opportunity to make a great impression on others which is not forgotten. It is also possible to miss out on opportunities, if one is not willing to put in the time and be the one to take the initiative. There are so many people with needs. Lord which ones do you want me to focus on? Lead me in Your path. I am willing.

This is how we look when we go. We are all spread out on the mat on the floor. I always have a couple of games in my purse or some crayons to keep my children busy. It also always helps as an icebreaker to other children.
Our second intake of interns sent us an amaing package many years ago. In it was a puzzle pattern book that gets more and more challenging with each page you turn.

Baby David bringing so much joy to all who get to hold him.

On to the legs.

Now for the actual birthday, we always want to do the favorite meal. Charis's request was chicken and chips. We wanted to celebrate with a big bash so that means we washed 15 kilos (over 30 pounds) of potatoes and sliced them up into french fries. We had them soaking in iced salt water overnight just so we didn't have to do everything the day of the party. I went back to my Homeschool Physical Fitness book and picked out some games. Just like last year the grown ups participated in playing the games which is a lot of fun to watch!

Our extended family member, Irene, is on the left and ran so fast for her team!

This is the best picture I have of the cake. I baked a chocolate sheet cake with peanut butter frosting and then I also made peanut butter cupcakes with chocolate frosting. It was a wonderful day!
