Sights and sounds and smells

The donkey bare a cross on their backs

Here at home in G-town there are so many special things that make this town one of a kind. After living in any place for awhile it is easy to take all them for granted. While I am still 1 month fresh from visiting the USA, I wanted to make note of the unique sights and sounds that stand out to me.

-the wailing of a donkey
-the call to prayer 5 times a day
-the smell of burning incense in the air
-the loud pop a water bottle makes when the trash is burning
-thorny bushes that can puncture a tractor tire
-men and women wearing sandals
-women covering their heads
-sweat gathered on everyone's brow
-entering a home and sitting on a mat on the floor
-a church's sound system
-every store being closed Friday afternoons
-beggars approaching and begging
-the smoke of charcoal
-the smiles of friends who we haven't seen in a few months
-the hospitality of drinking something cold when visiting a neighbor

All that and much much more!

This is amazing. All glory to Jesus. Keep doing what He's called all of you for. It so blesses my heart. Baraka
