| All of a person's belongings stacked up on a donkey cart. |
This has tugged on our hearts, and other believers hearts, in a big way and brought a longing of wanting to help and serve those effected. Those that are effected were already poor living in huts and now their huts have been destroyed. These people are living right down the road and we pass by each other in town and on the road. The body of Christ came together to brainstorm on what we could do. We decided to bring a medical outreach in 2 different areas. Some of us were also able to clean a school in one of the villages that was underwater. (The school where Grace and Amos serve at)
We not only want to help at this immediate need as a result of the floods but we desire to work alongside and bring development so that families can stand on their two feet without the aid from others. Most of the income that the villagers earn is from burning trees and making charcoal to sell. The flooding took down most of the trees so now there is a loss of how to make money. We do not have the answers. We turn to the God who made heaven and earth and cares about each person. God was the one to form all of us in the womb. He knows the number of hair on each person's head. A sparrow's life does not go unnoticed so how much more does He notice our own needs- both physically and internally. He can make all things new. We are ready to do what He wants from us. We also are ready to wait and listen to His voice. It is easy to be fully one way or another, to take action without turning to ask God what is His will. Or to pray continually without stepping out in faith to do something. Both are critical in our walk with God.

What you write is so true. It is easy to rush ahead without consulting God, or lag behind Him. May the Holy Spirit empower each of us to walk in willing obedience, I ask in Jesus' Name.
