Cheyanne and Jorah

Jorah and Cheyanne at the farm.
We have been asking God to send us help here in Garissa. For 1 we feel like we are at maximum capacity and can not add one more thing unless we can share the load of work with someone else. We are also planning to take our Home Assignment next year for 6 months and need people on the ground to be here for the interns. With all that being said the Lord provided new team members for us! Cheyanne was our intern in 2012, which was the year of so much insecurity and unknowns. That was when we were relocated to Tanzania for a few months. It was also when I was on medicine to keep Samara inside because I had early contractions. Samara was born healthy and 3 months later she and I were car jacked along with the Germo family. Before that our family and the interns had to evacuate gtown within a 2 hour notice. Cheyanne lived with a Kenyan family in Nairobi for a month or two and finally was able to finish her time in gtown. I believe all of this prepared her to be flexible and able to adapt in any circumstance that is thrown at her. Jorah was formally in the Navy and travelled overseas to several countries, most in the Middle East. I also know this gave him many useful skills that will allow him to flourish in this "hostile" area. They have committed to being here for 3 years and have already begun to dive into the culture trying to soak up all they can to learn about the people here. They have a heart to bring the good news to those who do not know.

"How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring the good news!" Romans 10:14-15

We went to Nairobi to pick up Cheyanne and Jorah. Unfortunately half of our family picked up colds with fevers and shared this with Cheyanne. She has not let this hold her back in any way. We went to clean up their house and houses for the new interns on Monday. On Tuesday and Wednesday fridges, cookers, utensils, pots and pans were purchased thanks to the current interns dividing and conqueroring the list of things that needed to get done. We also have been going through some Orientation filled with changes and stories of this place since Cheyannes was here. Yesterday Cheyane and Jorah spent the day at the farm and today we all had worship and Bible study together. What a week it has been and I am looking forward to what the future holds with them being here!
Driving to gtown from Nairobi.

Jaime Lyn sweeping out all the dirt in one of the new interns houses.

Whose says cleaning can't be fun?

Sarah wearing a mask to help out with all the dust.

How does Cheyanne look so adorable when cleaning?

Some of the purchases for the houses.

The girls got one of these big boxes to play with.

Going through Orienation.

This is so encouraging! Dear God,Thank you for this couple. Please shield & defend them & bless them with your heart for this place & it's people. Prepare them in every way needed to carry the load when the Witts are away, I ask in the Name of Jesus Christ.

We're encouraged hearing that you guys are encouraged and we prayerfully, expectantly, faithfully and patiently (that's a hard one 😊) also wait to see how the Lord uses you all as a team to see precious souls transferred from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of His dear Son 🙏🙂! May not one more of the 6 upg'er's pass away without at least having the chance to hear the good news in their language and context... Please God 🙏!
