It has come to a close where the 6 of us Witts have spent the summer being together. Jason has traveled to Kenya for a week to help out with a Documentry that our mission organization is filming. Righteous goes to school early- August 11th, because she is on the leadership team and will get things ready for Nevaeh's class to come. It was such a delight to make lots of memories. Since I have been writing about all our travels and what we have been doing I will only share our highlights from while we have been in Minnesota.
1) Our daughters had a full week being with Third Culture Kids from our organization while us adults were in different meetings. One of the Mom's from a young family asked our daughters what recommendation they would give as MK's. Some suggestions were to make sure that the kids learn the language of the country they are in. If you are homeschooling, have some other people grade papers so there isn't a bias from the parents. Include children in ministries as much as possible and make sure there is effort to help MK's get their permits and learn to drive whenever they are in the USA.

2) Another highlight was that the Germo family hosted a graduation party for Nevaeh. Out of 10 intern teams that have come out to Gtown from years 2008-2025 there was a representative from all teams but 1.
3) I was introduced to Geocache which was super fun to go searching in different places.
4) It's been a joy to meet new babies, they are so precious.
5) Got to renew passports so smoothly at the Post Office. I had 2 pictures taken for mine and the Post Misstress gave my second picture to Jason and told him to put it in his wallet. I was telling her I look so much older since my last photo taken 10 years ago. She told me enthusiastically that I have had a "glow up." She made my day.
6) We have gotten invited to have a snack or meal at the homes of some great people. It really means a lot to us being able to connect with you!
7) We love getting to go see the Hadrava family in Northern Minnesota and be with Kabekona Church family. They are so warm and welcoming to us. While we were there Jason and Samara were riding on a 4wheeler in the woods. They turned a corner and ran right into a skunk that had its tail up facing them and got sprayed! We laughed so hard when they came and told us the story. Thankfully most of that stinky smell got on the 4 wheeler and not them.
8) Finally got to see Jenny Freeman Hall's birth center! She is an incredible midwife and I am so proud of her. Jason and I got to go on a double date with her and her husband, Cullen, to a Brazilian Steakhouse. We not only ate delicious food but had heartfelt conversations, so glad that worked out.
9) Celebrated Nevaeh's passport birthday (her birth abroad certificate and passport both say she was born on August 5th even though she was born on the 6th). We went to see the Spider-Man movie and then out to eat burgers at a place that has root beer on tap.
10) On Nevaeh's actual 18th birthday we went to a local Amusement Park called Valleyfair, with some close friends of ours. We paid a little extra to buy a pass that included having a meal and unlimited drinks which definitely was the way to go. My whole family was incredibly brave and went on every single roller coaster. I only went on 3 rides total but still felt very content and happy. We learned that there was a lot of staff that spoke Turkish and even ended up meeting one staff that was from Nakuru Kenya and got to speak some Swahili to him. I am still shocked that Nevaeh is officially an adult and have been preparing my heart to launch her to college in just a few weeks from now. I recently read these words and have found them so true, "To all the young mothers out there, it's important to understand that your children are gonna be little for just a very, very short time. They are traveling through your house. They are visitors in your house. So train them, knowing that they won't be in your house always. Prepare them for life! Teach them how to talk to God on their own."

My favorite photo is of Nevaeh being prayed for after her graduation party. ❤️ Thinking of you as you return to Kenya with only 2 of your 4 daughters this time. ❤️
Do you remember Rick Dienel - my former boss at Fidelity and Evergreen? He was really into geocaching, and might still be. When we last spoke, he was laid off in his early 70s and took it as a gigantic hint to retire.
I agree with you Renee- people's prayers for Nevaeh have been so valuable and special.
Dad,I do vaguely remember Rick. That's cool that he was into geocaching and thank you for helping me spell it. I hope he is enjoying retirement
