For those of you who know where we live and read the news, there has been some attacks these past few weeks. The police are the ones who feel these attacks the most. I want to ask you to pray for them. There job is to protect this town and the people in it. They are not perfect but none the less I can see they are the ones that are facing persecution during this time. We are taking the necessary precautions during the time of uncertainty. We have many good friends here that give us a great inside perspective on things here. Praise God, He continues to keep us safe. He is the reason we are here.
In the mean time we just had our good friends from South Africa come and stay with us for a week. Jaco was Jason's supervisor when he was here as an intern. It was so fun to catch up and hear what the Lord has been doing in their lives since they have relocated up North. We hope to be able to visit them some day.
In the picture below, I went to the clinic to have Samara weighed. She is a whopping 15 pounds and 8 ounces at 5 months old. What a chunky monkey.
Here is our good friend Naomi who is a seamstress. We recently got new material from the market and are having her make us new dira's (dresses). The kids like to go and visit her at her workplace which happens to be connected with the clinic. She teachers women in our area how to sew so that they can have a trade and bring in an income to their families.
In the picture below- we got a chance to talk with one of the women who run the clinic and hear her vision of bringing education and medical care to the community especially to expectant mothers and children.
I wrote a few weeks ago that we have taken our games to our neighbor's children and it has been such great fun to play with others. So far we have brought them to 5 different families. Even the parents want to participate and try them out. Twister always brings a lot of laughter as we all watch how difficult it is to bend the body in all different directions.
