Samara was walking around outside our house, exploring. She stumbled across a baby bat and screamed about her discovery. Immediately the 3 older sisters ran out to see. We have Emily, Eric and their 3 month old, David staying with us right now. They just arrived here and have committed to stay here for 1 year. Emily and Eric have a lot of patience with my girls, and always answer the hundreds of questions they ask each day. Eric was explaining to them that a bat is from the rodent family and we should not touch it. Although bats can seem gross, they are a blessing to us because they eat mosquitoes. The mosquitoes here often carry malaria which can make us very sick so having bats around are helpful. It makes me think of the different things God allows to happen in my own life for my own good. I want to find joy when the different trials come my way. Those trials help my perseverance to grow. I am learning to be thankful for the bats that fly around in the night and learning to be thankful for the challenges of each day.
