The Provision of food

Showing the beans being boiled.
What a joy preschools are to lay down the foundations of learning for the many years to come. There is a preschool in our town that is such a delight for us to visit and that we admire for several reasons. One of the reasons is that they are bringing education (for now it is preschool) to a village where there is very little opportunity to go far in schooling due to poverty. Some of our closest friends and colleagues have started this school and in many ways we glean from their ministry experience. These same friends are partnered with us at the farm and serve at the medical clinic every Thursday. They have such a heart for this place and for the people. With the many years of living here they have seen fruit in the lives of individuals. There have been  awful tragedies such as; last year in which one of the local teachers passed away.  Immediately the question arose, in the end of her life, did she believe in Jesus? We will know someday and have a deep hope we will see her again. It was a reminder that tomorrow is not promised to any of us and with each day we want to fully live for God and be faithful.

This school brings such a safe environment to learn and receive love. Everyone deserves that, no matter what there circumstances in life are. My girls want to stay as long as possible when we come and are always eager to help teach a Bible story along with doing  art projects, with the classes, when we get a chance. What we appreciate the most is how welcoming everyone is.

All this to say we thank you Abundant Hope Baptist church for investing into these students by providing lunch each day. Pastor Jon was Jason's Youth Pastor when he was a teenager and really poured so much into Jason's life at that critical age. A lot of the man Jason is is because of Jon's obedience to the Lord! The impact he has made has been great and goes to the Nations which is Pastor Jon's Heart!

Now as a prayer requests for this school:

  • That every child that attends this school will strive to achieve very great things in life.
  • That they would not settle into the ordinary because everything else is an uphill battle.
  •  Please pray for the teachers who each day come to serve. That they would empty out all their strength, love, abilities, and still find time to be refreshed from the Lord at the end of the day in order for the cycle to begin again the next day.
  • Also be praying for the leaders and overseers of the school.

  • For discernment on what is God's perfect will.
