| Look at this gorgeous sky! |
Our group of 28, that lives in gtown, packed up and traveled to Nairobi. We were able to join the other Bethany teammates for a week of fun, some meetings, and Thanksgiving. Some mornings reminded me of the movie Home alone, where children are running around everywhere and it is somewhat chaotic. But in the midst of the noise and toys there was a deep feeling of- this is what a holiday with family is all about. There were times everyone got to share prayer requests and pray for each other. There were times to go and eat, KFC, Dominos and Burger King (We don't have access to these kind of restaurants in gtown). But a majority of the time was just being together, talking, listening, watching the children interact with one another. It was such a wonderful break.
My husband was the champion of Turkey day with Tim Kelly being right there beside him. We had over 40 people to feast with. The menu:
green bean casserole (Jason took the time to batter and deep fry the onions for the topping),
Sweet potato casserole (We bought 4 ounces of pecans for 6 dollars for the topping),
Stuffing (completely home made),
2 Turkeys (one 32 pounds, the other 19 pounds)
Mash potatoes (Tim Kelly was the Master of these),
Gravy (made from the innards, I have to not think about this when I eat it),
Peas and carrots, and
Collard greens.
Apple pies, pumpkin pies and pecan pies.

| The normally dry riverbeds were full of water from rain. |
 |
| Morning time =playing games in pajamas. |

| The Kelly's have giant size checkers like the ones at Cracker Barrel. |

| My man lathering the Turkey with butter. |
 |
| Basket woven with bacon. |

| Potatoes being peeked and as well as garlic. |
 |
| Many hands make light work. |
 |
| Deep frying the onions for green bean casserole. |
 |
| Heather was able to do a ballet lesson with my girls! |
 |
| I walked in to see the kids quietly watching NASCAR on the couch. |
